Admission Process

Admissions are normally done in May. Those who seek admission will have to submit to the school office an application in the prescribed form attached to the school prospectus, which will be provided at the office on payment. Nursery students will be admitted without test on first come first serve basis. For all other students, tests will be conducted and admissions will be granted on merit, depending on the number of vacancies existing in each standard. In all matters of admission, the decision of the head of the institution is final. At the time of admission the following documents will have to be furnished.

Attendance

The school year extends from June to May. Students must be on time and must be present in each class on all school working days. No leave will be granted during the school year except in case of illness. Only those holidays on the school calendar may be taken. Failure to report on the opening day of the school after vacation,
without valid reasons, will result in loss of seat, the reason should be informed in writing well in advance.

Scholarship & Fee Concessions

Students who obtain a minimum of 90% in all subjects are eligible for the Full fee concession that will be granted to one child in each standard (I to XII) provided the parent’s income shall not be more than Rs.1,50,000/- (One lakh and Fifty thousand) per annum.

Children of the employees of the Coimbatore Malayali Samajam including the School staff will be given Full Fee concession and clause No. 1 will not be applicable to them.

Application for Fee concession in prescribed forms are to be submitted before the end of JUNE every year. Late and incomplete applications WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Scholarships on tuition fees are provided for meritorious students who wish to pursue class XI are as follows : a) School Topper -100% b) 95% and above - 25% c) 90% and above - 10%

Uniform

Discipline Rules

1. Students are permitted to communicate only in English within the campus. Be punctual in proper uniform with ID Card.

2. School hours are from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm with lunch break from 12.30 pm to 1.00 pm. Office hours are from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Pupils who come late will be admitted to class only with the Principal’s permission.

3. Moving to different places within the campus should be done in an orderly fashion without making noise. Shouting or whistling or running in the corridors is not allowed in school premises. It is strictly forbidden to throw anything at others.

4. Take care of the property belonging to others and the school. Any kind of damage to school property by the student must becompensated as directed by the Principal.

5. Do not indulge in any financial transactions.

6. Students at all times, should show respect to teachers and elders as well as be gentle and polite with fellow students. Do not make derogatory comments or talk ill about teachers or peers.

7. Attend the school regularly and do not cut classes or request leave prior to examinations, special classes, school functions.

8. Habitual idleness, neglect of homework, disobedience and disrespect towards teachers and members of the staff may entail dismissal from the school. Pupils are responsible for their conduct both in and outside the school.

9. Observe the leave rules strictly. For absence of more than three consecutive days, permission from the Principal, through the class teacher, has to be obtained in advance.

10. a) No gold ornaments, magazines, video games, cassettes, I Pads, CD’s, cellular phone will be permitted inside the school. If brought, they will be confiscated.
b) No fancy or costly stationery items to be brought to school. If such items are brought and lost in school, the school administration cannot be held responsible.
c) Chewing of gum and other harmful habits are strictly forbidden.
d) No pamphlets/leaflets/flyers or invitations are allowed to be distributed in the school premises.
e) No letter correspondence addressed to pupil is permitted, if any, will be subject to scrutiny.

11. Attend all the test and exams without fail.
during examinations & tests :
a) No pupil shall speak or communicate in any manner with fellow students.
b) No borrowing or exchanging of materials is permitted.
c) If found guilty of copying or any deliberate breach of examination regulations, severe disciplinary measures will be taken that may include debarring from writing the exams or removal from the rolls.

12. Library books may be taken (for Higher Classes) for a period of a week. It may be renewed for further period of one week. Failure to return or renew the book within the said period, will result in a fine of Rs. 5/- per day.

13. Any constructive comments, suggestions or criticism should be dropped into the suggestion box.

14. If need, students will be required to stay back for an extra hour prior to functions or any other unscheduled meetings in the school.

15. Any action that brings dishonour to the school will result in immediate issue of T.C.
